21

With the advent of online card games, the golden time has come for those who like to play cards. You no longer need to look for those willing around you, a large circle of participants can easily be found online. One of the most famous is the game "21", it is more than a dozen years old and has its own history.

Game features "21"

There is an opinion that allegedly "21" or "Point" appeared in the middle of the 19th century, then the French came up with "Vingt-et-un", which translates as "21". Later it was also called "Pontun", but the digital name stuck more. There is also a version, allegedly "21" was invented in the Soviet Union, since decks of 36 cards were used, and 52 were rare.

The goal is to collect a set of cards so that the total amount of points approaches "21", but does not exceed it. Several decks are mixed and dealt 2 cards each, until the jack in points they go according to their face value, and those that are higher - 10 points each, an ace can be counted as 1 or 11.

If the combination is not a winning one, then you can take one card from the top from the dealer, but here it is important to accurately calculate the points so as not to overload. The online game gives the banker automatically, and the letter "B" is displayed next to the player who deals. The banker is changed clockwise, and cards are also dealt, starting with the player sitting to the left of the banker. The participants' cards are put face down, and the banner opens the top card and leaves the bottom one face down.

What's important to know?

When the cards are dealt, the players call the rates, the banker plays the game with each participant in turn. Upon completion of the circle, the cards are revealed and the results are summed up. The scheme is simple. If a player scores more points than others, but not more than "21", he is awarded a victory.

The loser is the one who has few points or more than 21 points. The loser's bet is moved to the bank, and the winner gets an amount equal to his first bet. They play until someone breaks the bank or until they "knock".

How the cards are distributed:

  • The banker puts one card at a time, removing from the top of the deck, to all participants, to himself - last. Then he draws a card from the bottom of the deck and places the picture up.
  • The banker can shuffle the deck either after playing with each player, or after completing the round.

To win, you need to score more points than the banker. Even if there is a draw, the banker still retains the win. Having taken two cards, the participant must either take more, or, if there are already enough cards, say "To myself!", And the banker will already collect. Ace is allowed to be counted as 1 point if 11 points are overkill, but this nuance is discussed in advance.

What is the golden point at 21?

2 Aces are called "Golden Point" because they win instantly. In addition, the win is counted when the player has 5 picture cards, and the number of points no longer plays a role. Incentive bonuses also fall, for example, if 21 points are scored with cards 6 + 7 + 8 or 7 + 7 + 7. But these points are also always discussed before the start of the game.

What does “knock” mean?

A knock is the moment when the bank's amount is 3 times higher than the banker's rate. For example, a banker bet 100 rubles, and went to 300. When a “knock” is announced, each player has the right to make a bet, but no more than is in the bank. If he wins, he takes all the money, which marks the end of the game.

All players are trying to break the bank in turn, it is permissible to name different amounts, you can even declare "All-in!".

Other important nuances

When everyone has played, and there is only one player left, whose turn to play with the banker, the rest of the participants are allowed to look into his cards and risk money on his alignment. If this person loses, the money is added to the bank.

When the "knock" is over, the banker takes the money at stake, and the cards, along with the role of the banker, are transferred to the next participant. A big plus of this role is that you won't be able to "lower" less than you put on the line at the beginning of the game.

Experienced players believe that memorizing cards helps to win. There are other strategies that are officially allowed, but only if the participant's move does not negatively affect the overall process.

Most popular strategies:

  • Double. The player doubles the bet, but such a move is justified if the cards that have left the game are accurately counted.
  • Insurance. More often useful to a banker.
  • Stand. The participant may not take an additional card, if there are a lot of high cards in the deck, it is better to stop at 12-16 points.
  • Withdrawal. With a high score, it is better to refuse to continue the circle in order to save half of the bet.
  • Split. When a player has 2 cards of the same denomination at once, the banker may offer to "split" them into two hands.

As in any game, "21" has its own terms that are worth remembering so as not to get confused:

  • Hit - take another card.
  • Stand - refusal to collect cards.
  • Bank - the one who deposits.
  • Ante - the first bet.

Summing up

The rules of the online game are no different from the game in real life, the only difference is that you cannot cheat by marking the cards. Before playing for money, beginners should master some simple science in free games, because inexperience it is easy to confuse terms or make a wrong decision. And, in general, emotions, excitement and adrenaline are always guaranteed!
