Assassin's Creed

"Assassin's Creed" is a stealth-action game that marked the beginning of the legendary series about the eternal struggle between assassins and templars. It became the first in the series, laying the foundation for a huge universe that takes the player through time and epochs, reveals secret wars for domination over the world.

Assassin's Creed Story

The key character, an ordinary bartender Desmond Miles, was kidnapped by unknown persons who, as it turned out later, are employees of the large corporation Abstergo Industries. Miles is kept locked up, periodically sent to a strange procedure, where he is connected to a strange device. He reads DNA and reproduces the life of Desmond's distant ancestor - the Arab Altair ibn-La-Achad. It is he who is the main character of the game.

Altair lived during the Crusades, in 1191. As a member of the secret organization of the Assassins, he performed various tasks of the master, eliminated important figures, both Arabs and Europeans, in the territory of Acre, Damascus and Jerusalem. As it later became clear, behind all this lies a secret war between the Assassins and the Templars, both sides are eager to get an artifact left on earth from the original civilization. It is about the location and nature of the artifact that they want to learn in Abstergo through Daismond, because the representatives of the corporation call themselves the Templars of our time. Therefore, that war is still going on.

War in the Shadows

The main plot focuses on Altair's actions, only occasionally interrupting on Desmond, through whom the narrative is conducted in the modern world, allowing the player to compare different plot details. The game requires exploring the world, the cities in which to live, and maximum interaction with the environment. For example, sometimes you can't get through the main gate, which means you need to disguise yourself in a crowd of wandering monks in order to enter with them. Or sit on a bench next to regular merchants, this will help blend in with the terrain and throw off the "tail".

Altair's arsenal is gradually increasing, which makes it possible to eliminate enemies more efficiently and more invisibly. And the ability to parry turns skirmishes into a combat dance, fascinating with spectacle and tension. And, of course, the iconic mechanic that has become key to all other parts of the series - Leap of Faith. Altair is able to make this jump from a great height, but only if there are haystacks below. Fighting with a crowd of enemies is already dangerous. And when there are real "heavyweights" among them, it becomes very tight. But, thanks to the cloaking mechanics and jumping on the roofs, it will be easy for the player to elude annoying opponents.

Open World and Weapons in Assassin's Creed

The game has several locations - 3 cities located in the Holy Land, the Assassin castle and long paths between cities. But, having penetrated directly into the city itself, Altair needs to conduct preliminary reconnaissance before an important assignment. It includes observing areas and their targets from a decent height, as well as obtaining information that will help eliminate enemies.

In addition to completing tasks, the player is free to explore all cities for the presence of hidden objects, small tasks or interesting characters. Gamers who love to bring their exploration of the game world to perfection will get special pleasure. After all, all the secrets found are displayed as a percentage of each chapter. This helps to figure out how many secrets the player was able to find and unlock.

Altair's weapons: swords, short blade, throwing knives. But the most important and iconic weapon of the Assassin is the hidden blade. In essence, a small knife located in the brace and retractable due to the mechanism. A deadly and silent weapon that helps you quickly and quietly deal with enemies.

Historical parallels

The game gained its fame also due to the detailed study and reconstruction of historical data. The action takes place during the Third Crusade, which means that both the goals and the main enemies of Altair are real people, for example, Robert de Sable or William Montferrat. The streets and buildings of the cities are correctly reproduced, in full accordance with the architecture of that period. Even the fortress of the Order of Altair - Masiaf - then really served as a home for the Assassins.

However, there are some common assumptions in the game. This is a strong discrepancy in the character of the head of the Templars Robert de Sable with his real prototype, mysterious "forerunners" that left people with artifacts of unprecedented power. It is precisely for such an artifact, known as the "Apple of Eden", that the hunt will be conducted, both in 1191 and in 2012, but already in the person of Abstergo Industries.

Summary

"Assassin's Creed" is the bottom of the iconic creations in the gaming industry. To date, there are a large number of parts and eras that this universe covers. The original game at first glance may seem sparse in dynamics and repetitive in action, but this does not detract from its value and excellent gameplay. Many players agree that enjoying this game will not get boring for more than one week.
