And representatives of the Rockstar studio heard the wishes of the players. They first added multiplayer mode back in GTA IV. But later, in GTA V, Rockstar expanded the multiplayer as much as possible. It has become bigger, truly multiplayer and interesting - with story-driven PvE missions and city-wide PvP battles.

This multiplayer mode is called GTA Online.

GTA Online is trying to expand and complement the story mode in GTA V. The story also unfolds in Los Santos, and the multiplayer gameplay itself is divided into separate missions. Moreover, even the characters are similar to the main characters of GTA V, their appearance is based on the appearance of Trevor, Michael or Franklin.

The gameplay begins with the driver meeting the character at the Los Santos airport. This is where the training mode starts. The player gets acquainted with the basic mechanics - driving, shooting, multiplayer modes, and so on. And then he goes to freeplay.

What To Do In GTA Online

The main task of a player in GTA Online is almost the same as in real life: making money. And more, more! For in-game currency, you can buy various property - mansions, apartments, cars, planes, boats and even new clothes.

To receive in-game currency, you need to complete various mission-episodes. These can be:

• Cooperative robberies. You can team up with friends or some random people, and jointly "surround" a bank, casino or any other interesting place where kilograms of money are stored. In the cooperative robbery mode, you will need to think over your plans and act together - almost like in the films about many of Ocean's friends;
• Racing. Because GTA is not only shooting on the streets, but also long races over rough urban areas or specially prepared tracks. The winner gets some money to spend for their own purposes;
• Smuggling. Together with other players, you need to try to transport various material values ​​that are not too legal in Los Santos. If the transportation is successful, the smuggler will get some money again;
• Arenas for mutual destruction. A classic deathmatch, in which either two teams participate (each of them's task is to destroy the other), or a number of players, each of which acts for himself. In the first case, the gameplay is similar to classic tactical shooters, in the second - to the "royal battle";
• Arenas with Capture the Flag. Again a multiplayer tactical shooter, only without character classes. Players are divided into two teams. Each has its own flag. It is required to steal the banner of the enemy and bring it to your base.

In addition, there are a lot of PvE missions in GTA Online. These can be individual or "raid" tasks that are aimed at interacting with the environment. This is not necessarily a trip to some big boss. For example, there are even dance missions in the spirit of classic games from the Grand Theft Auto series.

GTA Online Updates

Rockstar is committed to keeping players in Los Santos for as long as possible. Updates for GTA Online are released almost every month. These updates bring a lot of new content:

Vehicles, including thematic ones. For example, Halloween decorated cars, motorcycles in the colors of the American flag, and so on;

New interactivity. For example, the 2019 updates brought the ability to play poker and other gambling;

New types of business. Players can open their own casinos, nightclubs, resorts and other "businesses". All this allows you to earn more, more often and faster.

It should be noted that many types of thematic interactions are temporary. For example, Valentine's Day cars and modes are only available for a single week in February. Similarly, themed content for other holidays - Halloween, Christmas, US Independence Day.

In 2018, the "Nightlife" mode was also activated. You could open your own club. Real DJs from real life (offline) performed in it!
