At first glance, it might seem that Grand Theft Auto IV is a downgrade from its predecessor. In the third part of the series, a whole state was available to us for research, with several large cities, and now we again return to the lonely Liberty City. But don't worry. After playing just a little, you will notice how much prettier the gameplay is.
The main message seems to have remained the same - playing as Niko Belich, an emigrant from Serbia, we complete the quests of the main plot, and just explore the city, taking time. But all this was done with amazing attention to detail - the developers delight with many elaborate details and nice ideas.

When you start helping your brother Roman, a small operator who is used to exaggerating any problems, you will start to fight your way through the criminal circles until you get what you want.
Unlike past GTA characters, Niko is not trying to become some kind of cool crime boss who wants to take over the city no matter what. He is looking for something, and the missions that he goes through are the only way to find out. He can sometimes be violent (which, by the way, makes him do the player), but there are moments in history where you can take your finger off the trigger. Despite the senselessly violent tendencies that many might associate GTA with, Niko is in many ways an exceptional character as he has his own inner code that he uses.
The infrastructure of the game has become much more convenient, but there is still something to strive for. If Niko fails a mission, a message prompting you to restart it appears immediately after respawning, and upon death you will not lose your entire arsenal. You can get around the giant metropolis faster if you take a taxi that will take you to the marks on the map. To steal a car and drive yourself, as always, is also an option. But for those short on time, or looking to avoid the accidental dangers of driving around the GTA world, taxis are always ready.
But all the same, you will have to start missions from scratch quite often, which means that large chunks of levels will have to be repeated. Some of the assignment structures can be really impressive and work well in the context of a storytelling direction. But, unfortunately, many of them will have to go through trial and error. You could complete the mission perfectly, but at some point accidentally hit a police car, or unsuccessfully shoot an object that is critical for the mission. You have to start over, which is sometimes annoying.
But forget about it, because in Liberty City, a stunningly realized virtual version of New York, there are so many interesting things. You can also go on missions, of course, or you can do free activities and explore the streets.

Well-written characters and story, along with a delightfully detailed, detailed world, is sure to leave a strong impression on anyone who dives into this version of Liberty City. GTA has always been about the moments. Remember that time when you fell on a pedestrian, jumping out of a car that crashed into a lamp post, and in the background a police helicopter crashed into the roadway with a powerful explosion? In the PC version, you can save such moments using the replay function.
By pressing F2, you can save a piece of gameplay up to 30 seconds long to your hard drive. It can also be changed in the built-in replay editor. Here you can apply filters, join clips together, add text, music, change the camera angle, and much more to recreate your favorite scenes the way you like. Want to cut frames where you shoot cars from a combat helicopter? Remember to hit F2 every time something spectacular happens. This is a great opportunity to preserve and enjoy rare moments that seem impossible to repeat in the unpredictable world of GTA.
Multiplayer in Grand Theft Auto IV
There is also an online game, an important addition to the series. In the PC version of this part of the game, the player limit has been increased and a more convenient search functionality has been added. The transition to the mode takes place through Niko's mobile phone. Here you will find many options for playing, from racing and death matches to team games with more specific rules.
In online mode, you create your own character by choosing appearance from six parameters. Additional options for customizing the hero are unlocked by gaining levels in the online game. They can also be obtained by earning money in ranked matches.
The host of the game selects the area of the city (or the entire city) in which the fight will take place, how many pedestrians there will be, the presence of cops and the level of their vigilance, may prohibit the use of certain weapons and auto-aim, selects the time of day and weather. He also configures the network game at his discretion.
