Well forgotten old
"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" is a game that at one time played ahead of the curve, setting a whole range of important elements of the mechanics of game shooters. For example, butt blows, limiting the inventory for carrying weapons, hidden objects on the map, shield combat mode. Today, such techniques are adopted by almost every game shooter, but it was within the framework of this game that history was made. "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" allows gamers, both seasoned fans and newbies, to experience themselves as the famous paratrooper Master Chief and fight off an alien civilization.
Modern graphics and juicy picture, combined with the drive, action and excitement that the game gives, leave no doubt about the need to refresh memories in this reissue.
A distant future in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
The plot of the game covers a chain of the first 3 parts of the famous series of games. It all started with political unrest in the future, which led to the creation of space colonies, as well as internal conflicts of views and positions. Therefore, special units "Spartan" were formed, aimed at eliminating the riots. Skirmishes and disputes continued, until the appearance on the arena of the commonwealth "Covenant", consisting of motley aliens. Driven by its own motives, the Covenant goes to war with a divided humanity, gradually gaining upward.
It is here that the main character appears - Master Chief, "Spartan", whose task in the first part of the game is to seize the "Covenant" ship with a valuable hostage for further negotiations. Halo itself is a huge, artificial planet made in the shape of a ring, which the Covenant considers sacred.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection Digital Progress
If "Halo-1" won due to its strong plot, then "Halo-2" surprised by the form of presentation, because the videos about the main events were new. In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, this has all been polished to a shine and reworked like a CGI. That only benefited and made the game more cinematic and colorful. "Halo-3" is still good-looking, but the re-release brought up such an important component of this game as multiplayer. Enemies have become smarter, stronger, more dangerous, fighting with them is already much more interesting and fun. A wide range of possibilities opens up before the players, which creates new and new situations in the multiplayer game, leaving a lot of impressions.
Know your enemy
Halo: The Master Chief Collection couldn't have replicated the success of the first games in the series if it hadn't been for a detailed world. Particular attention is drawn to the "Covenant" as each race has its own place and position:
- Prophets. Political and spiritual leaders of the Covenant. Their race originated on a planet rich in artifacts and ancient ruins. This is what gave them a technical advantage over people and a strong impetus for development.
- Elites. The main military force of the Covenant. The elites were the only ones who formed an alliance with the Prophets and became at the top of the hierarchy. Like the leaders, the people alike treat the rest of the allied races with contempt.
- Brutus. A freshly arrived race in the Covenant. The main difference from the Elite, as a military, is the disregard for the concepts of honor. They do not wear armor because of their thick skin. They are extremely religious, which is very much to the liking of the prophets.
- Hunters. Special creatures serving only the Elites and working as brute force. They always act in pairs, they can violently avenge their fallen comrades.
- Jackals. Are mercenaries as their own star-state was destroyed by the Covenant.
- Grunts. Ordinary Covenant soldiers. Despite their small stature, in large numbers they represent a serious danger. Although they are treated like cannon fodder by the Elite, they are deeply respected by the Grünts.
- Drones. A race of flying insects recently recruited into the Covenant. Used as a technical and repair force.
What's interesting?
The game reveals the sides of the conflict from all sides. There are no one-sided images here, everyone is driven by their own goals and beliefs, which is the perfect recipe for a good space opera. Tightened graphics, reworked videos, high-quality presentation and many hours of addicting gameplay. All of this awaits players in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and is sure to delight seasoned veterans of the series. It will also be a revelation for those who missed the previous series of games.
