Just Chatting

None, even the most interesting AAA-class game with a plot more intricate than the works of Agatha Christie, is capable of capturing tens of hours of gameplay without interruption. At some point, you get bored of constantly fighting zombies, saving princesses, solving geometric puzzles and being afraid of ghosts unexpectedly popping up from around the corner, and you just want to talk. Discuss the plot, raise a couple of burning problems, complain about the cat who left a scent mark on his backpack, and now he doesn't even wash with bleach, or brag about buying a new vegetable dryer.

Luckily, Twitch doesn't require you to stream your games. You can simply turn on the camera, turn to face it or some other charismatic part of the body, and start a dialogue with the audience. This is called Just Chatting.

Let's talk to you, my dear man

Even the developers of computer games understand the importance of dialogues between characters. Let us recall, for example, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. You might never have walked around the ruined post-apocalyptic Pripyat, but you still know what it means "Ai, I caught an olive tree!" or remember this completely unfunny, absurd, but at the same time for some reason still causing Homeric laughter anecdote about the puppet theater performed by bloodsuckers.

Simply, one way or another, we love to talk. This is the main element of our social interaction. You can be any unsociable recluse, for whom, even during self-isolation in 2020, nothing in life has changed at all - and still be in a couple of group chats in a "cart" and occasionally chat with friends in a voice on Discord.

During conversations, you can share your thoughts, express your opinion, complain about the injustice of life, or boast of success. Find like-minded people - or, conversely, it is exciting to argue in the discussion of a particular topic. Show off wit and ability to use interesting rhetorical techniques. Listen to other opinions and learn something new for yourself. In general, talk more and more often! This is not only interesting, but sometimes useful.

What Just Chatting Is Talking About

The Just Chatting mode practically does not limit the topics for communication. Therefore, you can talk about anything:

  • Discuss the latest news, express your opinion on world events, phenomena and factors. But be careful not to go from stating your position to trying to campaign. Populism is generally not very good;
  • Share some stories from life - successes, failures, even gossip about colleagues at work who do nothing, and therefore you have to work for three, and upon returning home you don't even want to launch your favorite game, but only open Just Chatting mode and tell them what bad people they are;
  • Demonstrate what is really good at. Build a birdhouse live, telling about the difficulties of wagtail nesting in central Russia; fry the perfect scrambled eggs, which you can right now in the anime, talking about the features of choosing a frying pan; play a cover of Imagine Dragons on a ukulele, a saucepan and a cat that accidentally passed by; and so on;
  • Discuss controversial aspects of the plot of your favorite games. Did Captain Shepard do the right thing in the Mass Effect 3 ending? Is the peaceful protest in the Detroit: Become Human finale worth it? How many times did the main antagonist of Quantum Break jump back and forth in time - and maybe the strategy for saving the world developed by him has the right to life?
  • Talk about movies, TV shows, maybe about the new album Run The Jewels or the latest single "Noise", in which he remembered that he can read quite lyrical rap without trying to blame the listeners for everything at once.

In general, there are many topics for communication. Choose the one you want and start broadcasting. Or, on the contrary, join an interesting discussion and discuss with the speaker.

How communication works in Just Chatting

Twitch is not a radio. Therefore, communication does not slide into dull podcasts, in which it is proposed to exclusively look at the talking head and listen to its broadcast. There is a chat somewhere near the player screen.

In the chat, you can leave your comments, express to the stream author everything that you think about him or the topic raised by him, talk to the rest of the discussion participants and attach a couple of very original "emoticons" to your message for greater persuasiveness and emotional color.

In addition, you can support the stemer by throwing him a small donate - a little money based on a voluntary donation. As a rule, such translations attract special attention of the speaker, so that he will react to them faster. You can attach a question, comment or other message to the donation.
