Realm Royale
Most modern battle royale games have one common problem, the name of which is free-to-play (and pay to win). Seemingly free, they abruptly begin to overwhelm the gamer with obsessive demands for donations and purchases of various items for real money. And this drastically nullifies all other advantages of the game and the genre as a whole.
Realm Royale has been plagued by this issue with all its might. So far, the developers from the Heroic Leap Legends studio and their management from Hi-Rez Studios have not calculated the number of players lost after the release and the total losses. And the whole business model had to be redone. By making the donation less intrusive, the developers were able not only to return part of the audience, but also to make Realm Royale quite an interesting "battle royale".
No one dares to call me a chicken!
Gameplay Realm Royale is the most classic battle royale imaginable. There are a couple of distinctive features that are determined by the world of the game, but in general - if you play at least one battle royale, then you will not get lost here.
There are up to 100 players on one map. They first parachute into a safe area, which constantly narrows, pushing the characters into the center. Initially, players are armed with some completely basic uniforms, but more practical "guns" and body armor can be found on the map.
The player's task is to kill everyone else and remain the last survivor on the map. If he succeeds, then he receives honors and other amenities. Failing? Well, there is a rather original and interesting mechanic for turning into a chicken.
"supplies" with new uniforms and weapons are scattered around the map. But even if the desired sword could not be found - it's okay. Realm Royale also has a built-in crafting mechanism that allows you to break the found items into separate components and build something new and interesting from them.
On the map, you can also find Forges - special zones in which you can get additional abilities. Of course, full-fledged competition is unfolding for the right to manage such a site. Not healthy, but like in Russia in the 90s - the owners of the forts are disposed of in the most cruel way and then they occupy this territory.
Now - about the mechanics of turning into a chicken. After death, the character does not die, but becomes a chicken for 30 seconds. If during this time the enemy does not deal with the suddenly appeared feathered (and it is surprisingly difficult to do this, since the bird has an impressive reserve of health), then the "deceased" hero is reborn. For the entire time of the game, you can turn into a chicken three times. The fourth death is final.
Realm Royale Character Classes
"Battle Royale" Realm Royale also boasts a small role-playing model, which, however, is added solely for show. Characters of various types are quite similar to each other. And the chosen specialization does not impose too much restrictions on the gameplay.
Nevertheless, there are classes here, and there are five of them here:
- Warrior. Wields a throwing ax, can jump steeply, getting closer to the enemy or, conversely, leaving the battle;
- Engineer. Wields a plasma blaster and wears a jetpack on his back, thanks to which he flies into the air. And most importantly, he knows how to place turrets, however, like ordinary engineers in most games;
- Assassin. Wields an incredibly powerful sniper rifle that deals so much damage that it can deal with some characters with one shot. He also knows how to teleport a short distance and disappear into a smoke screen;
- Mage. Wears a weak stone spear as the main weapon, but is able to spend a lot of time in the air and learns spells that bring additional special effects;
- Hunter. Wielding a bow, called the most dangerous weapon in Realm Royale, and with increased mobility.
To choose your favorite class, it is worth at least 1-2 times to "run" each of them, having familiarized yourself with all the weapons and abilities used. It is worth noting that the specifications are actually well balanced, so you won't be able to find anything particularly "powerful". But you can choose one that will perfectly match your style of play.
Realm Royale Co-op
Realm Royale itself, like any other normal "battle royale", starts only in multiplayer mode. Each map can have up to 100 characters controlled by the appropriate number of players.
But there is also an internal cooperative. You can "run" not alone, but as part of a group of up to 4 friends. If they all survive the Battle Royale, victory will be awarded to each of them. So cooperative is great!
