The guys will have to survive in a crowd of monsters, talk to the carrier of the more dangerous G-virus, William Birkin. Later they are joined by schoolgirl Sherri and beauty Ada Wong.

The developers have taken care of photorealistic graphics, when the view of the monsters opens from over the shoulder, and the pictures are very spectacular. In fact, this is not a zombie action, but a slow, viscous horror, from which it is extremely difficult to get out. It is important to take into account that zombies are stubbornly trailing in the footsteps, so you need to act quickly.

In fact, "Resident Evil 2" can be called a test of stressful thinking and decision-making ability under strong psychological pressure. A gamer's mistake does not always turn into death, you can stupidly wander into a dead end if you frenziedly shoot all the cartridges. But it will be impossible to get out of the city later. When moving forward, the guys get access to various weapons that do not eat up ammunition sickly, which forces them to scour the neighborhood in search of new ones.

Recommended weapon for Leon:

• Pistol VP-70M. The guy had it at the beginning of the game, but needs improvement over time. Only good against weak opponents.
• Shotgun. You can find it in the weapons cabinet in the police station storage room. With such a weapon it is possible to resist several zombies, but it is more reliable to hit at close range.
• Chemical Flamethrower. Found in the pantry on the lower level of the sewer. Mows down zombie plants at a time, with no chance of recovery. It is advisable to modify the fuel cylinder so that it does not empty so quickly. To save money, it is better to fire up the flames in bursts.

Recommended weapon for Claire:

• SLS 60. With him comes into play, but it is desirable to improve the weapon. Weak against tough opponents.
• Grenade Launcher. You can find it in the guest house. It is convenient to shoot at a crowd of evil spirits with incendiary projectiles, but it is unprofitable to use single figures. Acid projectiles quickly take out enemies, but it is better to spend them on those who are stronger than zombies.
• Electric Cannon. Can be found in the Pantry. Effective against G-Parasites living in sewers, but when firing, you must look at the charge scale and give the highest power. Also works against zombie plants.

What about the enemies?

When creating undead, the developers did a good job of combining cosmetic with practical ones. Enemies waddle around, they can stagger, so it is extremely difficult to get into their heads. But this is precisely the "plug". If you don't crush the skull, these creatures have the ability to regenerate! Therefore, there is no question of salvation, even if you hit the enemy with a shotgun, but hit the chest, because at any moment he will reappear behind his back. And if you consider that the guys need to save ammunition, then the picture for the heroes is not at all rosy.

That is why the heroes need to constantly figure out how best to get to a particular location. What to donate, and what to keep in reserve, cover the undead with a grenade or watch with a grenade launcher? And then there is Mister X - the Tyrant that Umbrella sent to eliminate Claire and Leon. And fighting off him is no less difficult than from a zombie.

Resident Evil 2 Gameplay & Technology

Players note that in the first part, the main characters were rather guides than full-fledged participants. In the second, they expanded their roles, added cut scenes. Plus smooth animations, good voice acting, events are almost felt in real life. So "Resident Evil 2" can be called a complete rethinking of already worked out material, a game with an original play on familiar ideas.

Pros and Cons

On the positive side, it is worth noting a user-friendly interface, a well-conveyed spirit of the original, excellent graphics and pictures. The downside is the weak boss design. Well, the constant stress for the player, although this is a relative question, for many, the adrenaline rush with such portions is a pleasure. But, in addition to the desire to drive monsters and the ability to hunt down evil spirits, you need to take into account such qualities as patience and ingenuity. Otherwise, you can easily lose your head in situations that at first glance are completely hopeless. And there are plenty of them in the game.
