Shotgun Farmers
Farming is a very exciting activity. You can grow all kinds of rutabagas and radishes, sell them, buy seeds of new varieties of asparagus and turnips with the proceeds, sell them later ... In general, there is always something to do.
Shotgun Farmers also have farming. Only there are no asparagus and turnips. Instead, there are cannons growing in the fields! One miss - and another deadly asparagus grows out of the ground.
The Deadly Power of Corn
Shotgun Farmers is a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter that implements one very interesting and unusual gameplay mechanic. The fact is that here weapons grow, like vegetables, from accidentally dropped seeds-bullets. But reloads are missing as a class.
It all works as simply as possible - it's easier than a steamed turnip. If someone accidentally or deliberately misses, a new weapon grows at the point where the bullet hits. "Cannons", by the way, look very similar to plants. Asparagus shotgun? Why not?
But there is no recharge. Once removed from the cob, corn seeds cannot be returned back, right? So, if the ammunition is running out, all that remains is to shoot the penultimate bullet into the ground and wait for the new gun to grow. Fortunately, this only takes a few seconds. However, you can wait until the deadly vegetable is fully ripe - then it will have more cartridges.
Weapons, by the way, are very diverse. For example, Carrocket Launchers is a rocket launcher that sends a huge and extremely dangerous carrot at the enemy. And the Sniperagus Rifle is a sniper rifle made up of asparagus (asparagus) stems. That "big kukurizina" is a powerful shotgun.
And Livestock at Shotgun Farmers
In terms of gameplay, Shotgun Farmers is a classic multiplayer shooter. On most maps, the usual PvP mode is implemented - the players present unite in two teams and do everything to deal with a group of opponents.
However, there are also several special modes with additional missions. They are classic missions from multiplayer shooters, only redesigned for the setting of the game:
- Chicken Run. A crazy feathered creature is scurrying around the map, which you need to catch to win. Considering that there is only one chicken, and there are a lot of players, a whole queue of aggressive-minded farmers is lining up behind the bird;
- Capture of a Pig. In principle, quite a classic "capture of the flag", only small meat-feeding cattle acts as a standard. One pig, two teams. The task of the players is to steal the priceless small hornless cattle from the enemy and keep the animal under their control for as long as possible;
- "The Scarecrow King". "Capture point", only, again, in the style of farming. There is a scarecrow that is very attractive to all vegetable growers present on the field. The task of each team is to keep it under their control for as long as possible.
Zombie mode is also present. Because what kind of farming is there without fighting the numerous living dead? All players unite in a team of survivors and try to hold out together as long as possible, while waves of zombies of all shapes, colors and sizes attack the controlled farmland.
Finally, Shotgun Farmers has an offline mode (singleplayer). The developers present it as a training one - and this is quite understandable, because the mechanics of growing weapons and harvesting cannons still need to get used to in some way. In offline mode, everything is absolutely the same as in multiplayer mode, only numerous opponents are bots controlled by artificial intelligence.
Battles in Shotgun Farmers are pretty fast. This is due to the small size of the maps and the peculiarities of the multiplayer mode - up to 10 players can be present on the map. On average, a match takes 15-30 minutes - and you will have to wait about the same amount of time until there is enough lobby (for some unknown reason, the game has not gained much popularity, therefore, online is relatively small).
But you can create your own server, protect it with a password and invite friends. Other users will not be able to enter this "room", so you can hold a gardening championship with your friends.
Donate to Shotgun Farmers
Despite the fact that Shotgun Farmers is a paid (albeit extremely inexpensive) game, it also has a donation. Purely cosmetic and "according to the precepts of Gabe": you can buy unusual hats! As well as costumes and additional character animations.
However, all this can be obtained for free, simply by moving up the rating table. So the donation is not only cosmetic, but also optional.
