The Joy of Creation

In 2014, the computer game Five Nights at Freddy's was released. It was created by an independent game designer and exploited the rather popular fears of darkness, loneliness and giant life-size animatronic puppets that come to life at night (and this does not happen as cute as in Toy Story).

The game was really fun and pretty scary, so it instantly became extremely popular. At one time, she even received the status of the best-selling on the Desura platform. And - off we go. Sequels, books, Warner Bros. wanted to release a film, and then a trilogy, artists created graphic novels, prequels and midquels appeared, and also side story branches ... The conveyor turned around - and as a result, the last games in the series began to receive completely dull ratings from critics like 6/10.

The episode required liters of fresh blood, and The Joy of Creation could well be such a soft restart. The fact is that this game was not developed by professional game designers who, with equal ease, calculate profit and loss, and think over horror elements. It was created by a fan.

They will know the Joy of Creation

What The Joy of Creation is definitely not capable of bribing is the plot. He is simply not here. There is a fairly simple setup, after which just horror and survival begins. The plot line sounds like this - the main character returns home in the middle of the night. But inside his mansion lie inner demons, who have risen to claim what they have been waiting for. Everything.

Experienced players, who at least heard about Five Nights at Freddy's on the radio, already perfectly understand what kind of "internal demons" we are talking about. Of course, about the Animatronics - huge human-sized dolls. Here they, however, look even more creepy than in FNaF - burnt, battered by life, with bright red eyes.

Creepy Dolls from The Joy if Creation

The antagonists moved to The Joy of Creation straight from Five Nights at Freddy's - and these are all the same four full-length animatronic dolls. Only, as mentioned above, even less cute and creepy - burnt, shabby, irritated.

There are four antagonists:

  • The Foxy Pirate. A humanoid fox with a hook instead of one of its arms. Initially, it looks incredibly creepy due to the fact that the suit is leaking from several places and an endoskeleton is visible from the holes;
  • Chick Chick. Anthropomorphic chicken with a cupcake in hand and a bib with the inscription Let’s Eat! Unlike real birds, it boasts good teeth in its beak. However, it is better not to experience their effect on yourself;
  • Bonnie Rabbit. As the name implies, this anthropomorphic rabbit is dirty blue-purple in color. The fastest and most active, so it may seem like he is able to move using teleportation;
  • Freddie Fazber. The pizzeria icon from Five Nights at Freddy's, a humanoid bear wearing a top hat and bow tie, and a microphone in its front paws. However, do not hope that he will sing anything.

True, the behavior of these characters is somewhat different from what was demonstrated in the Five Nights at Freddy's series. The fact is that the main character of The Joy of Creation is Scott Coughton himself, game designer and creator of the FNaF series. And the destroyed animatronics are his inner demons, who are finally ready to get out into the wild, albeit through a computer game. So you can - and should - expect more macabre behavior from the monsters.

How to play The Joy of Creation

The Joy of Creation walkthrough consists of four tasks. Each of them confronts one of the animatronics. The passage begins with a collision with a damaged Freddie. He will roam the house, and the character's task is to survive, moving from room to room.

The second challenge is an encounter with a damaged Bonnie. The action of the game moves to the basement, five objects are scattered around the location, and they must be found in a limited time.

The third task is one of the most difficult. She confronts the character with a damaged Foxy. Moreover, the animatronic immediately appears in front of the main character and therefore it is definitely not worth turning on the flashlight. The only way to stop Foxy is to start shining in his eyes. But not too long - the animatronic first pauses and then gets angry and instantly kills the character.

The injured Chika appears in the fourth mission, which takes place in the forest. The player's goal is to collect ten drawings that are scattered throughout the location. Chika is constantly somewhere nearby, watching the character, like Slender Man. As usual, it is better not to shine at her - but also not to look away.
