The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game
LEGO games are designed to be played on as many devices as possible. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out on as many as 14 different platforms, including mobile devices. And, I must say, not all of them look perfect. With The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game, TT Games has cut the road to the past and released the game exclusively for the next generation of consoles. Thanks to the additional power, Lego Ninjago has a very large world and better graphics, but the main advantages of the game are not tied to technology. They are TT Games' mastery of making fun with simple concepts.
The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game Story
The game tells the story of a gang of guys led by Lloyd (green ninja), who is avoided by the whole society for being the son of the evil Lord Garmadon. But no one knows that under the auspices of Master Wu, Lloyd and five other ninja are the last line of defense against Garmadon and his shark army. The hero has to lead a double life - to be everyone's favorite ninja hero, and in everyday life, a simple boy whom everyone hates.
On their mission, the team travels around the world, from war-torn cities to uncharted jungles. Ninjas begin to learn more about themselves, become more proficient in martial arts and learn to control the power of the elements.
Abilities and Combat System
Following the script of the cartoon allowed for more dynamic story arcs for the game characters. Over time, the heroes develop, and the player reaps the benefits in the form of new powers and abilities. The changing dynamics of the characters keep the adventure interesting, newfound powers allow you to cope with previously impassable obstacles. In most Lego games, characters' abilities do not change at all, but in The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game you will constantly learn something new.
Striking bunny style is a regular fist fight. The dashing boar style allows you to crash right into enemies. The fluttering butterfly style allows you to kick enemies in the air. In soaring eagle style, you can hit the ground, damaging multiple enemies. In the style of a stinging bee, you can deliver merciless swift strikes to stunned enemies. In the style of a heavenly dragon, you can beat the enemy in the air. In the style of a thinking old man, you can stun enemies.
All of these fighting techniques can be improved with special tokens on the ninjanichi wall. Scrolls with improvements for each style hang on it. Unlock all upgrades for a specific vehicle to become a master of it and get new parts for character creation. One campaign playthrough is enough to open all the scrolls on the wall. By the end of the game, your characters will be fully pumped and will be able to smudge any enemy in the environment.
The scale of the battle here is much larger than in other Lego games - to convey the skill and dexterity of the ninja. Using special attacks allows you to gain combo chains of up to one hundred hits, but this is not at all necessary. Some enemies will have shields that can only be lowered with certain techniques, but most enemies can be simply beaten by poking all the buttons (in the traditional style of Lego games).
Maintaining large combo chains will be useful for those who want to complete the game 100% by unlocking all the characters and collecting all the golden bricks. Chains provide a larger multiplier for parts (local currency), which allows you to achieve these goals faster, because parts must be spent to unlock new areas and secrets. In general, even if the new abilities do not make each character unique, they make battles much more fun, which Lego games do not always do well.
Other modes
In addition to the main story, the game has something else to interest the user. After completing the campaign, you will gain access to both races and quests. In the dojo, you can re-fight bosses to hone your combat skills and earn rewards. Golden bricks allow you to open mysterious doors leading to new locations. The game also features Combat Maps - local competitive multiplayer for four players, realized through a split-screen.
There are three modes in Combat Maps:
- Ninja confrontation, where you need to steal flags from each other;
- Mysterious treasure, where to find artifacts;
- Ultimate Ultimate Weapon, where you need to find and take possession ... Ultimate Ultimate Weapon.
The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game Character Editor
The game also has a character editor, the details for which you can pick up as you go through the levels. These parts can then be used to customize your ninja. And although there are only basic details - head, body, arms and legs, this level of customization has never been seen in any Lego game.
