The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The game has a long history, because The Legend of Zelda is a series that includes a series of action-packed adventures with a permanent main character. Link fights for the welfare and happiness of the Kingdom of Hyrule, a fantasy world that attracts a large fan base. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has become the main starter game from the Nintendo Switch. If the first variations, which came out a long time ago, were more linear, then the new version is significantly different. The developers initially predicted something unusual, during the game you really see a lot of differences from the usual world.
Breath of the Wild Story
This time the evil turned out to be stronger, a hundred years have passed since a crushing defeat. The hero escaped and stayed in a state of magical sleep for a hundred years, waking up in a deplorable state in a cave and received a stolen rusty ax and a minimum of equipment. Lack of memory of the past and a lack of understanding of what is happening will not prevent you from going towards adventure and conquest.
Now the world has become as open as possible, the developers have worked so hard to remove the shackles that it is very difficult to notice them. For example, you can catch and tame a horse for further riding. If in the previous parts more or less open world was limited to the order of acquiring abilities and passing dungeons, obtaining tools, now everything has changed.
Open world and maximum opportunities
Now special abilities do not need to be developed during a long game, most of them are available after a couple of hours, approximately the same time will be spent on quests of the introductory category. You will be able to choose the order of passage. The creators took care of the interest of the process, teaching the character to climb rocks and surfaces, soar on a paraglider. This saves time and does not make it necessary to walk around chasms or rocks, the main thing is a sufficient level of endurance.
The indicator was added in the presented part and affects the ability to be on a steep cliff or in the air, however, new opportunities give incomparable pleasure even at the beginning of the passage. The vastness of the area is perceived more loyal, the free world has allowed to reveal the topic of climatic zones.
The player will have to adjust:
- avoid death near a volcano;
- prevent freezing in the north and in the mountains;
- you need to prepare potions and dishes for resistance to adverse conditions or stock up on special clothing.
Gathering the necessary items and products
The standard binding to merchants has been removed, you can search for ingredients on trees, grass, killed animals will be useful for obtaining resources, there are a lot of combinations. Experiments will lead to pleasant results: increased attack, speed, health regeneration, and so on.
Shrine upgrade
Completing tasks in the sanctuaries allows you to pump the hero. Tasks are based on a creative approach to solving tasks, thematic puzzles, sometimes tasks are of a combat nature. If successful, they give out magic balls, they must be delivered to special statues, increasing the stamina or health indicators.
Tasks are not too time-consuming and do not have time to get bored, now there is a reason to look for sanctuaries. An additional bonus is teleportation between them, which makes movement easier. In the game, even the weather affects the situation, for example, in a thunderstorm, it is better to remove all metal objects.
Breath of the Wild Items and Equipment
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild added equipment:
- batons;
- spears;
- boomerangs;
- bows;
- swords;
- battle hammers;
- axes.
And some types of weapons have unique qualities. There is a certain set of outfit for all situations, and the armor can be improved. The drawback is the limited inventory, and in fact there are many weapons, since they break and a number of resources found.
Battle Battles
Fights are a strong point, there are different enemies, including quite dangerous robots with laser weapons. The action is organized at a modern level, the battles are dynamic, but they are not overly aggressive. To win, you will have to try a number of tricks, including a standard rebound and a new opportunity - parry. Creation of a powerful response to the enemy's action will appear during the slowing down of time when dodging an attack. The technique is not easy, you have to fill your hand for success.
Game Features
Breath of the Wild is created with interesting, small details that do not cause close attention, turn the world into a real one. For example, during precipitation, rocks get wet, the slippery surface does not allow to climb normally. Also, the process is organized with enemies: take them by surprise, and they will be forced to defend themselves with stones or sticks. While traveling, you may encounter a considerable number of unexpected rewards or additions. For example, sharing supplies just like that can get you an unexpected reward.
Many tasks await in the vastness of the world:
- stealth missions in the villain's lair;
- fights with monsters;
- secrets and puzzles;
- unexpected missions and levels.
In some places, the insufficient power of the used iron is noted, in a number of actions, distant enemies are not drawn. However, given the limited capabilities, the developers have achieved significant success. The game will appeal to fans of the series and those who decided to explore the fantastic kingdom for the first time.
I managed to successfully combine my favorite elements and updates, introduce a lot of secrets and opportunities, as a result, the game lasts for a long time. Despite technical limitations, Breath of the Wild came out beautiful and fun.
