Uno

The board game Uno, which - thanks to its simplicity and fun - conquered the whole world literally overnight, was invented by an ordinary hairdresser from a small American town. He took the gameplay mechanics of "One hundred and one", but at the same time slightly modified it. And the end result is an incredibly exciting game, in which each round is not like the previous one, you can cooperate with other party members or make "pranks" for them, and also just have fun, even if you have never encountered "board games" before .

The incredible popularity of Uno could not pass by Ubisoft. And then she developed a computer version of this board game. Uno for PC can be enjoyed alone, with friends, and with random opponents from around the world. In general, you don't have to worry about the game - it will be there.

What is Uno and how to play it in general

The word Uno means "One" in Italian. And it is him that the player exclaims when he has only one card in his hand. This means that he is more than ever close to winning - unless, of course, a neighbor in the party does not put some kind of trick in the form of "Order of color" or the command "Take four".

The deck used to play Uno consists of 108 cards. It includes:

  • 76 cards with numbers from 0 to 9. Made in four different colors - red, yellow, green and blue;
  • 24 action cards. There are three types - "Reversal of the move", "Skip the move" and "Take two". Also available in four colors;
  • 8 special action cards. Two types - "Color order" and "Take four". They do not have their own color, therefore they can be drawn at any time.

In some cases, the Uno deck can be expanded. For example, you can include blank cards in it. But this is no longer a canon game, but a special modification, and it is extremely difficult to keep track of all such additions.

The game begins with the dealer dealing 7 cards to each party member. The rest are put on the table with a shirt. Then the top one is turned over - and the game will begin with it.

The player's task is to discard as many cards as possible from his hand. Desirable - everything. But you won't be able to do it just like that. During his turn, he may discard a card from his hand that has the same color or value as the one that lies face up on the table.

Suppose there is a yellow nine face up on the table. Then the player can place on top of it either another nine, or another yellow card of any denomination, or a yellow action card, or a special action card. Suppose he got rid of the blue nine. The next player can be either any blue card, any nine, or a special action card.

If the player does not have cards suitable for the move, then he can draw one of the deck. Further it is already to determine whether it is possible to "throw out" it or take it in hand. In any case, after that his turn ends.

Action Cards

Most Action begins when Action Cards come into play. There are several of them here, and each of them can either make life easier for the rest of the party members, or - traditionally - give them a dirty trick:

  • Draw two. Forces the next player to draw two cards from the deck, prevents them from discarding;
  • Reverse Turn. Usually Uno is played clockwise. After one of the players throws such a card, the direction is reversed;
  • Skip a turn. The next player skips his turn - he cannot discard a card or draw a new one;
  • Ordering a Color. The player who discarded this card names the color. The next one should look like either the card of the specified color, or black (special action card);
  • Take four. The player who discarded this card names the color. The next one skips a move, but at the same time draws four cards from the deck at once. The player after him frantically searches for something of the right color in his hands.

There are additional rules for using special action cards, but it will be much more fun to learn about them yourself, directly during the round.

Uno PC version and multiplayer

Like many other tabletop card games (like Exploding Kittens, Cards Against Humanity, or Magic the Gathering), Uno has been ported to the computer, largely for multiplayer reasons. Now the party does not need to gather at one table. You can play Uno with friends over the Internet, directly from their homes.

There are two types of multiplayer in Uno - with a local lobby (when friends gather at one virtual table) and a global one (when random people generally act as opponents). The second also brings the global leaderboard, seasonal events, championships, and more.

And you can pump up in a single player, in which the enemy is artificial intelligence.
