Assassin's Creed Unity

Assassin's Creed Unity has been waiting. This game was supposed to gently relaunch the Assassin's Creed series, which by the time of release had been bogged down in self-repetitions and stamping "according to a project per year." On promo videos and trailers, modern and beautiful graphics were demonstrated, the main characters now not only secretly moved in crowds, but often fought according to the principle of "one against ten", and instead of the usual blades, it was proposed to wield sabers.

However, after the release, it turned out that Assassin's Creed Unity dragged to the new engine not at all what we would like. However, the game still turned out to be decent - that's something, and the ability to draw all sorts of historical sights from Ubisoft will not work. Notre Dame alone is worth something!

I will sell my soul to the devil for Notre Dame

So, Napoleonic France in 1789. Quite recently, the guillotine was invented, which has not yet had time to demonstrate its effectiveness - the revolution has just begun, and together with the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Unity, we will go through it from start to finish, from the capture of the Bastille to the execution of Louis XVI.

The main character is a young assassin Arno. As usual, a tragic childhood event pushed him on the path of fighting injustice - his father was killed during the events of Assassin's Creed Rogue. On the day of his parent's death, Arno meets Elise de la Serre, a sweet girl who turns out to be a Templar.

Now they have to coexist somehow. But do not expect a romantic comedy in the spirit of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", Arno witnesses the murder of his girlfriend's father, he is accused of this crime and sent to the Bastille. There, the boy meets Pierre Bellec and is initiated into the Brotherhood of Assassins.

It gets more interesting further. The main characters begin to conduct long investigations, trying to find out what is happening in general and why their parents are not dying of old age, and thus they go to the new head of the Templar Order. It was at his request that all those murders took place.

In the meantime, something incomprehensible is happening in the future. The Assassin Order is trying to find a certain Sage. They are sure that the same Arno is connected with this. And so they scan the character's genetic memory. In general, the storyline of the future is so well thought out that it would be better if it did not exist at all.

Parkour and stealth in Assassin's Creed Unity

When a revolution unfolds outside the window, and not just some kind of riots, but the real French Revolution of 1789, when millions of citizens took to the streets and overthrew the monarchy that had existed for centuries, there is not much to stealth. Apparently, Ubisoft decided the same - and made the mechanics of "stealthy movement and silent killings" as simple as possible.

Instead, the player will have to constantly face French soldiers who walk in groups of several people. As a result, it is simply impossible to secretly kill one of them. But you can break into this crowd, get your favorite saber and make a bloody frenzy. And then - try to hide among the rest of the townspeople.

Although Paris is an incredibly beautiful city, you will most often have to admire it either from the dirty narrow medieval streets or from the catacombs. Really spectacular moments with dashes on the roofs and the ascent to the very Notre Dame Cathedral, the developers have somewhat cut back.

The game is mostly set in Paris. A couple of times they offer to look into Versailles to admire a variety of architectural excesses. Paris is clearly divided into seven districts, which differ quite markedly from each other.

Parkour mechanics have also been overhauled. Separate control mechanisms have appeared that allow you to control the movement up and down the walls. It has become easier to climb onto the roofs, but, again, it is not clear why - most of the action takes place anyway on the ground.

And also here the Eagle's vision has been changed. First, it needs to be pumped. It is initially short-lived, but then you can prolong its effect. Secondly, it can be used in a cooperative passage, marking important objects not only for yourself, but also for other players.

Assassin's Creed Unity Multiplayer

Well, what is Assassin's Creed, and without multiplayer? He's here too. True, it is used exclusively for cooperative passage. Up to four players can simultaneously walk on maps, complete various storyline tasks and help each other in every possible way in the fight against the French monarchy.

At the same time, the cooperative is made quite interesting. If any of your friends is online and available for co-op play, their NPC avatar will be waiting in the nearest tavern. After contacting him, the gameplay will be synchronized.
