Control

A girl named Jesse Fayden arrives at the Federal Bureau of Control in search of her missing brother many years ago. True, she clearly chose the time to visit this organization unsuccessfully. Most of the employees levitate under the ceiling, chanting the mantra of yellow and purple pearls and the happiness that will come in a hypnotic trance. The odd Finn janitor believes Jesse is his assistant, and the voices from the black inverted pyramid calling themselves the Council appoint the girl as director of the Federal Bureau of Control.

Now Jesse needs to lead the Bureau of Control, clear it of invading aliens from another world, find his brother and talk to the plants, otherwise they have completely withered.

Secure, hold, save

The Federal Bureau of Control is a top secret organization that finds objects with supernatural powers around the world and collects them in their warehouses. At some point, one of the objects behaved a little badly and opened the doors to a parallel world. From there, the Eeses made their way and successfully captured the minds of most of the Bureau's staff and turned them into monsters.

But Jesse is also not a bastard. Not only does she also have an entity named Polaris in her head, but the girl herself may well communicate with objects and acquire supernatural abilities from them - telekinesis, hypnosis, levitation and other amenities, which, of course, will help in the fight against Iesses. .

As a result, the average shootout is very dynamic: Jesse is attacked by many enemies, she telekinesis grabs the nearest sofa and throws it at the largest of them, then soars off the ground and starts firing left and right, captures the mind of some enemy, again throws something else heavy - and so on until the battle drumbeat stops coming from the speakers.

Plot and Control Characters

The first half of Control runs under the slogan "What's going on here?" The player is not given any exposure. Here is Jesse, she is looking for her brother, she came to the Oldest House (the building that houses the Federal Bureau of Control), and became both director and assistant janitor. Everything. Tiny pieces of lore, scattered here and there in the form of memos, calls from the other world, tape recordings and the cartoon "Children of the Zone of Contact", after which the player's hair will turn gray for a long time in the most unexpected and hard-to-reach places, are collected in the overall picture of the world. but not in any way normal exposure.

In the second half, the situation becomes a little clearer. The player already understands what kind of Bureau it is and what it does, remotely guesses about the reasons for the appearance of the Jesus and how Jesse herself is connected with it, and, it seems, is about to understand who Polaris is.

Characters don't help much either. The obliging secretary Pope will tell everything about objects and objects, citing an encyclopedia; Containment Chief Langdon will joke witty and incredibly fresh jokes like “We've got a breakout in Cell 69! Sixty nine!" and send Jesse on the dirtiest assignments; The head of the rapid response team Marshall will treat the new director with suspicion and therefore will not reveal anything.

So it only remains to read. Elements of lore are scattered throughout the Old House - letters, notes, reports and other documents. In them, employees complain about work, call each other for tea, talk about the objects found and describe their characteristics. You will have to read a lot in Control.

No, of course, you don't need to read it. But then the plot will just sweep by.

Gameplay Control

Control is the perfect game for office lovers. Most of the gameplay takes place in them. Jesse rushes along endless rows of tables and filing cabinets that scatter clouds of papers in a funky way as enemies climb out of offices and foyers. Sometimes the game suggests new and very beautiful locations like the Black Stone Career or the Panopticon, but they do not bring much variety.

But the fighting here is at the highest level! Jesse can:

  • Grab various objects with telekinesis and throw them at enemies;
  • Surround yourself with a shield of available stones;
  • Instantly teleport short distances;
  • Levitate and land like a superhero in a crowd of enemies;
  • Capture the mind of opponents and lure them to your side.

Of course, all these skills are not learned immediately. We'll have a little and just equip a pistol, the old fashioned way. By the way, it can take different forms, turning into a shotgun, and a grenade launcher, and into something incomprehensible called "Cumulative".

Control is also worth praising for its beauty. Sometimes Jesse finds himself in locations that are breathtaking. It seems like the same Black Stone Quarry with rocks or bridges floating in the night sky in the Containment Zone. And with RTX, it all looks even more impressive.
