Kingdom Come: Deliverance
In the first hours of playing Kingdom Come, you have to help your father in the forge. Run errands from your mother. Play pranks with friends. Flirt with your girlfriend. And as soon as you are imbued with the simple life of Henry, a mysterious army attacks the village, burns it down and kills everyone who is dear to the hero. This is such a brutal starting point in an epic tale of war, political instability and revenge.
Henry is a very lovable hero. There are not enough stars from the sky, but this is precisely what he disposes to himself. Leaving his old life behind and at the front of a bloody war, he is as discouraged as you are. But his spirit and determination allows him to balance above the water. Henry will serve as an excellent guide through this harsh medieval world, with complex culture and politics.
Realistic RPG
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a hardcore RPG with a leveling system inspired by The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The strong point of the game is the realism of what is happening. This is a real medieval simulator.
If you are caught stealing by the hand, you will have to spend some time in prison. Bare your sword during a fist fight and your opponent will back down or even apologize. The nobles will talk to you more willingly if you take the bathroom. If your reputation in the city is especially high, people will shout your name and sing your praises. Drink too much and wake up with a hangover in the morning. Take off your clumsy plate armor and you will make less noise while sneaking. Eat poisoned food - sign up for food poisoning.
All these little details continue to accumulate layer by layer, creating an exciting dynamic world. At times, the game seems more like a realistic thief simulator than an RPG that allows you to approach tasks differently, cheat the system and be creative. NPCs follow the same daily routine, which you can remember and use to your advantage. Especially if you decide to complete the Skyrim Thieves Guild-style quests given out by a suspicious character. Turning the good-natured, God-fearing Henry into a thieving criminal doesn't seem right, but it's a great way to earn extra gold, which is often in short supply in the game.
One of the early quests invites us to steal an item from a man's house, and gives us a feel for the interactivity of the game. You can just come during the day and buy this thing, or you can sneak into the dwelling at night and steal it while the owner is sleeping. But he has dogs that will bark if they hear you sneak into the house, so first you have to deal with them - either distract them by throwing a piece of meat, or, if you can live with it, kill them while they sleep. But this can wake up the owner, and he will not be at all happy that you encroached on his property.
This is not a script written to the developers at all. All of these events are the result of deep, comprehensive simulation of the game.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Save System
The game is saved automatically after you complete a mission - it doesn't matter if it is a storyline or a side quest. Also, autosave occurs if the player sleeps in a bed belonging to him or in a room rented in a tavern, which will also replenish Henry's health. But be careful - if you explore the world for a long time without doing anything that causes the save, and bump into dangerous opponents - you can lose all your progress during this time.
This is where Savior Schnapps comes in. It can be drunk to save the game manually. It is quite expensive for merchants, so accidentally stumbling upon it is a great success. There are also disadvantages to using Savior Schnapps - this drink is alcoholic, and Henry gets drunk from it. This will boost your charisma, but weaken other stats and abilities that require agility.
Build your skills with Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Character characteristics depend on what he is doing. Quests will have dozens of solutions, and what Henry will specialize in is entirely up to you. And although he has his own character, background, desires and needs, how he will achieve success - all this is up to you.
In addition to traditional RPG stats such as level, strength, agility, stamina, and so on, there are abilities here that show how well you handle certain actions. The more you swing your sword, the better your skill with them will be. Successful dialogues and deals with merchants will boost your communication skills.
This is what the game fascinates. Instead of starting with endless potential and just pumping numbers, you have to practice with weapons and learn how to use abilities before you can use them in real game situations. Starting as a clumsy, illiterate simpleton, you can develop in any direction.
