Last Oasis

The setting of the end of the world and other apocalypse is very much loved by both computer game developers and gamers. Well, in the end, I just want to feel like the savior of an entire civilization! It’s not an old woman across the road to turn on a green traffic light.

Therefore, the "ends of the world" in computer games, as a rule, are reversible. Even when it comes to, for example, a zombie apocalypse, there is always someone who will find a vaccine, while the main character, under the guidance of the player, will "bring down" these damned living dead in droves.

The end of the world in Last Oasis is irreversible. Generally. Local residents had to face natural forces, about which it was scary even to fantasize, and now they can only try to adapt to the horrors of life that are happening. The fact is that in Last Oasis, the Earth has stopped. Just. And now the Sun constantly survives it to the ground, turning it into a desert without water, greenery and animals.

At the same time, Last Oasis itself is a multiplayer game. So the survivors will have to unite into clans, fight with each other and constantly move around the world in search of that very oasis where you can stop for a while and take a breath.

Forward, my faithful walker!

Last Oasis has two key advantages that set the game apart from the rest of the survivals, which have now spawned like zombies after the spread of an unknown virus. The first is the system of a dying world.

The world in Last Oasis is burning out more and more every minute. The discovered grove may cease to exist tomorrow, being replaced by a dull desert without resources. Therefore, there is no point in building a fortified base in order to threaten all the visitors from there with the words “Who are you? I didn't call you! ".

Last Oasis encourages a nomadic lifestyle. We got to one oasis, pumped out all possible resources from there, drove away competitors (or got hit on the head by them) and went further. Fortunately, you can move from place to place on a huge walker.

Walkers, or walkers, are the second advantage of Last Oasis in comparison with other projects. Inspired by the kinetic art of Theo Jansen, these spider-legged, wind-powered wooden boats are home, base and vehicle at once. Here you can gather the whole clan and roam from oasis to oasis, store the resources received, rest and gain strength, as well as fight with other groups of gamers, arranging full-fledged "sea battles on land", using a grappling hook and other pirate tools.

Economics and Research in Last Oasis

The nomadic lifestyle in Last Oasis has a very unexpected addition - a thoughtful economic system. It connects the largest oases discovered.

Imagine a situation where there is little water in one of the regions, and meat in the other. Clans agree among themselves to periodically exchange these resources. Now, spread it all out internationally. The economic system is supported by the players themselves, and although it has not yet reached the futures and derivatives exchanges, it still works great.

You can earn in Last Oasis in different ways:

  • Become a major trader. Buy something you need, then sell it for more. In general, almost like on exchanges;
  • Get and sell rare resources. True, you need them yourself, but then decide for yourself which is more important - fresh meat or crispy money;
  • Crafting different things. This is more profitable, so it makes sense to start crafting. If, of course, you have enough of the necessary resources. If not, you can always buy them.

The economic model shows itself well in the taxation system of some oases. If a location is under the control of a clan, then players who reach it have three possible options for action - pay tribute, leave, or declare war and take control of the region. The only question is how powerful is the clan that controls the discovered oasis.

Last Oasis has a huge open world, which is also "rubber", that is, it adjusts to the number of players. However, there are many biomes in it, so that even ordinary travel and exploration is enjoyable. And if rare resources were found during such a walk ...

Clans and Solos in Last Oasis

Last Oasis pushes the player to join the clan. But this is not necessary. You can travel around the world in splendid isolation, trying to survive in local ecological and economic systems.

In this case, the solo player is free to do whatever he wants. For example, become a mercenary or a trader, a hunter or a pirate. The main thing is to survive, and the specific role model can be selected depending on the circumstances.
