Deceit
Deceit is an online multiplayer shooter with horror elements that can awaken paranoia in even the most gullible and friendly person. The fact is that you don't know who exactly is next to you - the same guy who plans to escape from the local location, or a creepy supernatural monster.
But this is not "Mafia". The length of a game in Deceit rarely exceeds 10 minutes, so it will not be possible to compose a psychological portrait of each of the team members. It is required either to blindly trust, or to suspect everyone in general.
Nowadays, you can't trust anyone. I can
So, Deceit begins with the fact that 6 people are thrown into some abandoned building, something like a psychiatric hospital. One of them is infected with some unknown virus, thanks to which it turns into a bloodthirsty monster, fast and practically invulnerable to bullets.
The players' task is pretty simple. Those who are not infected with an unknown virus must get out of the room. True, there is no map where the door leading to the outside is marked. So the way out has to be found.
The task of the infected is to prevent the others from getting out. There are two ways to solve it. The first is, of course, by killing them all. The second is by infecting the others. In general, you will have to turn into a monster anyway.
The monster itself, as mentioned above, is practically invulnerable to bullets in its supernatural guise. However, most of the time he will have to spend in the human body. And it’s quite vulnerable to bullets. You can turn into a monster only when the lights go out in a psychiatric hospital.
Since it is impossible to kill the monster while it is in the appropriate guise, you have to somehow figure out the infected among the human neighbors. Of course, they will deny in every possible way and say that they are by no means monsters, but fellow humans who also pursue the goal of getting out of a psychiatric hospital.
And all this is complemented by quite standard elements of multiplayer shooters and horror games. You need to run around the map, capture various useful objects, and also make your way to victory in other ways.
By 2020, Deceit has several DLCs. They slightly expanded the range of locations and the number of monsters.
Monsters Deceit
In the first version of Deceit, there was only one monster - Experiment. Quite nimble, relatively tenacious. In the future, a few more characters were added:
- Horror. Is a genetically modified biological weapon. Has a speed bonus of 30% - that is, it is able to move 1.3 times faster than other characters.
- Yeti. Improved version of Horror. Has additional protection to the action of weapons, light and other troubles, but at the same time its speed bonus is 10%. He is also able to become invulnerable, but at this moment he also freezes himself;
- Werewolf. Gains a huge bonus to speed. At the same time, it is quite fragile, so it can be killed with a regular pistol. Has the "Scream" ability, which scares the rest of the characters and practically blinds them for a few seconds;
- Vampire. The key ability of the character is "Swarm". Able to turn into a flock of bats and in this form move through the ventilation at great speed.
In order to admire all these monsters, you will need to install the necessary add-ons. And if Deceit itself is distributed free of charge, then DLC add-ons are sold for very real money.
Deceit locations (maps)
The game Deceit takes place on several maps. In the first version, there was only one - a mental hospital. After the release of the DLC, a few more appeared:
- Arctic. The action takes place at the northern base. "Native" monster - Yeti. Somewhat reminiscent of Carpenter's "Thing" in its atmosphere;
- Forest. A relatively small map with a lot of relatively open areas. "Native" monster - Horror;
- Sawmill. Another relatively small map, but there are few open spaces in it, but there are three zones. "Native" monster - Werewolf;
- Homestead. A beautiful card with an unusual design. Not very good for beginners. The "native" monster is the Vampire.
Native monsters are recommended monsters to try for immersing yourself in the Deceit atmosphere. But no one forbids the Yeti to run around the Manor or the Vampire through the Forest.
Development studio Deceit regularly releases updates for the game. So the number of cards, monsters and in-game items is constantly increasing. In addition, Deceit has a system of achievements that are awarded for various interesting events.
