Resident Evil: Revelations
The Resident Evil game series can be used as a demonstration of the dangers of developing biological weapons. In each part of it, the heroes have to fight monsters and zombies, which appeared as a result of genetic modifications of viruses, parasites and other microorganisms.
Resident Evil: Revelations, whose plot is "side-by-side" to the main line, was no exception. Yes, the corporation Umbrella, which is the main antagonist of the rest of the projects in the series, does not appear in it. However, biological threat, zombies and other horrors of life are present here in sufficient numbers.
Moreover, Resident Evil: Revelations was an attempt to return the series to the rails of survival horror (survival simulator in the world of nightmare). Chronologically, previous projects gradually rolled into an action game and a shooter, where the almost immortal and invulnerable Jill Valentine stacks zombies and other monsters in batches, effectively wielding powerful guns. Immediately, the action was transferred to a limited space, and supplies and ammunition are insultingly few.
Explain the importance of isolation during an unknown virus outbreak
The plot of Resident Evil: Revelations begins in 2004. The floating city "Gray Earth", in which they tried to build a technological society of the future, is attacked by bioterrorists from the organization "Veltro". They turned out to be so dangerous and powerful that the federal bureau for combating such attacks decided to deal with the location once and for all, just with one precise strike from an orbiting satellite.
A year later, Jill Valentine and Parker Luciani from the Bureau of Combating Bioterrorism arrive in Europe. They found that on the coast of the continent, not far from the once destroyed "Gray Earth", traces of the virus used in the attack on the floating city were recorded.
Fortunately, the virus did not manage to get over to the continent itself. He is localized on a large cruise ship called Queen Zenobia. Climbing aboard the ship, Jill Valentine discovers that the crew and passengers have turned into mutants called "fluid". The T-Abyss virus developed by Veltro is to blame.
In the same place, they learn that the virus from the previous parts of the series, which turned people into Hunters, has mutated. And these revived dead have acquired a new interesting ability - now they are able to become invisible. And also that the same orbiting satellite that once destroyed the "Gray Earth" is now targeting the "Queen Zenobia" and is ready to sink the ship along with Jill Valentine and Parker Luciani.
There are too many dangers for the cruise ship in Resident Evil: Revelations
The gameplay of Resident Evil: Revelations, as mentioned above, returns to the origins of the genre. The gameplay is quite standard for survival horror - the characters have few weapons, and there are a lot of puzzles on the ship. Therefore, you need to wander through the cabins and corridors, getting various tips.
Each mission begins with the fact that the characters are thrown into some closed location. From it passages lead to other rooms and premises, access to which is temporarily restricted. And the characters under the control of the player, well, really need to get there. On the way, they can find various interesting things - weapons, cartridges, ammunition, first-aid kits and other bonuses.
By the way, this is the only way to replenish your inventory. Monsters do not drop anything else upon death. Zombies and other undead can only be destroyed in one way - with an accurate headshot.
Fortunately, the main characters are not defenseless kittens either. Yes, the game has become more difficult and therefore more terrifying. But the characters now have a Genesis scanner, which explores the surrounding space and highlights interactive objects, as well as various secrets, boxes with bonuses and other useful things.
Monster Survival Difficulties in Resident Evil: Revelations
Monsters in Resident Evil: Revelations have become more tenacious than in previous parts of the series. They now only die from headshots. Hits in other parts of the body can only slightly and temporarily slow down opponents. Given that the stock of ammunition is extremely limited, firearms should be used on a one-shot, one-dead basis.
But the main characters have learned a new technique. They can now dodge attacks. In addition, the weapons used by the characters can be modified to make them more lethal and effective. For this, special suitcases are used, scattered across the levels.
After completing the main storyline, a special mode called Raid Mode becomes available. It consists of several additional missions, each of which is more difficult due to the increased number of opponents.
